My Evening Routine | Microfiction

Illustration of a skull at an old window. "My Evening Routine" microfiction

I only open my curtains when the sun’s gone down. It’s so I don’t have to see the people in the garden. They freak me out with their wide, dead-eyed stares.

When night sets in they’re swallowed by darkness, see? Invisible. And I can almost forget I ever even killed them.
