And Now I Come Crawling Back | Blog

Scribbled heart sketch

Oh, hello! I would say long time no speak, but it’s only been a little over a week. It feels like an age, though… I’ve missed hanging out in this little writerly corner of the internet.

First things first, thank you for all your lovely well wishes and congratulations on my last blog post. Your lovely comments have given me the warm-and-fuzzies and I really appreciate you taking the time to write them.

The wedding went about as smoothly as it could go, thankfully. The weather was fabulous (if a smidgeon too hot, but we can’t have it all!), the ceremony was incredibly emotional but absolutely perfect, and I think everybody ate their body weight in burgers back at our reception at home. As for the less than perfect moments… well, my lovely husband ended up in bed by 10pm, my dear brother overdid the sambuca shots and threw his guts up on the living room floor, and I managed to splash red wine down my white dress when I was cleaning up… but all in all it was a wonderful day, and I’m feeling incredibly loved-up and happy!

I’ve really enjoyed having a full week off from work and writing to focus on all the mushy, lovey-dovey stuff, but it feels good to get back on track. My mind’s been far too preoccupied with wedding thoughts the past couple of months, so it’s nice to have the brain space to think about writing stuff. I still have some planning and strategizing to do, but I think I’m going to bite the bullet and get stuck into self-publishing some fiction over the next few months. I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out along the way (my life’s motto, basically).

I have no idea what I'm doing

In the mean time I’ll be back to sharing my silly short stories here as of tomorrow. Cheers!

  1. Welcome back! Your wedding after-party sounds completely par for the course based on my experience!! How was the brass band, by the way?
